In this episode we explore the world of Splice and the music creation tools they create for artists. We dive into the expanding world of DIY music tools that enable creators to make music in their bedrooms. We learn how the rise of new tools like Splice and creators like Murda Beats are disrupting the music creation process.  

To take us through this topic, Ale Koretzky joins us from Venice, California. Ale is the Head of Machine Learning at Splice and leads Splice's AI strategy, roadmap, and execution, from machine learning R&D to engineering. He also founded Tunesplit a music-AI startup that utilizes machine / deep learning to separate and analyze music. He writes about music Audio AI in Medium and is himself a musician and music producer.

About ALE KORETZKY

Alejandro Koretzky leads the Machine Learning team at Splice, designing and building models and infrastructure for scalable content-based audio retrieval in search and recommendations His background is in multimedia signal processing, focused on the design of real-time applications at the intersection of Machine Learning and Audio.

Ale was the creator of tuneSplit, an early-stage venture that developed a highly optimized, deep learning-based audio source separation technology to isolate vocals and deconstruct stereo music into stems in real-time. (Acquired in 2016)

He holds a Msc. in Electrical Engineering from USC, where he spent 2 years breathing audio/speech, acoustics, image & video processing and ML, He came to the U.S. as a Fulbright Presidential Fellow from Argentina and was also a recipient of a Dean's scholarship from USC Viterbi, in recognition as an outstanding undergraduate. He remained an advisor to the USC Startup Garage incubator, helping and mentoring resident teams on early-stage strategy. When time permits, he  talks about Audio AI at Stanford's CCRMA and writes about the topic on Medium.
